neuroVision was set up in 2001 with a
view to promoting neuro-ophthalmology in Australia.
neuroVision has two main aims:
|
• |
To foster and support research into neuro-ophthalmological
areas, with a particular focus on clinical research
in Australia. |
|
• |
To improve clinical excellence in neuro-ophthalmic
diagnosis and management in Australia. |
In order to achieve these aims, we
are currently involved in the following activities:
|
• |
We have established a course in neuro-ophthalmology. The aim of this course is that it will
be held over a weekend on a yearly basis and this
years course is to be held in September. The aim is that it will be highly relevant to all trainees and
practitioners in neurology, ophthalmology and neuro-surgery, as well as of interest to optometrists and
orthoptists.

|
|
• |
Development of a web-based network of Australian
clinicians and researchers in the field of neuro-ophthalmology.

|
|
• |
We are in the process of setting up a charitable
foundation with a view to funding a chair of neuro-ophthalmology
in Australia, along with several research
fellowships. It is hoped that the foundation will
also be able to fund research equipment.
